Making Money from your Brand
It doesn’t matter what line of business you’re in there are people that want to wear your brand. Ok, maybe not if you’re a funeral director but you know what I’m saying.
It’s been long established that most people want to feel part of the ‘in’ crowd. They want to show they frequent a specific bar, drink an exclusive whisky or attend a trendy club or gym. It’s just human nature.
Why then do so many businesses neglect to give their loyal customers the opportunity to buy branded merchandise.
Pick your audience
It’s important that you pick a product that will resonate with the type of clientele you service. A countryside visitors centre is obviously going to attract a different custom than that of a trendy high street bar.
Some garments fit anywhere though. The t-shirt is at home in any surrounding. Coming in so many styles, colours and fabrics it’s easy to get something that will fit your needs. Easily branded with either embroidery or print t-shirts are always a popular choice for merchandising.
Similarly hats, whether baseball or beanie, can be a great seller. Again branding is not a problem and can be a favourite with customers.
Don’t restrict yourself
Many businesses though can have a much wider range. Gyms can target clients with an array of sports gear and normally find they sell well. Visitors centres can also have a great selection and depending on their business target specific markets.
As an example I’ve shown the latest additions to the Arran Distillery range. They have been selling merchandise for several years and know the tastes of their clientele. The garments are high quality, the embroidery subtle and are aimed towards an older more mature customer.
You know your customers better than anyone and will probably have a good idea as to what they would buy. But Kylemark are here to help if you’re struggling. We have over 22 years experience branding clothing for uniforms and merchandise and will be happy to assist with ideas.
