If you work in the cold you know the benefits of a good pair of gloves and a cosy hat. But you can sometimes be limited in your options if the type of work you do requires dexterous fingers or safety workwear. Hopefully Kylemark can help find you the right gear for the job.
Hands especially can be restricted. It’s not feasible to wear padded mittens if you work in an industry that requires nimble digits. So something with a bit more flexibility is needed.
Modern tech comes into play here. Newer fabrics and materials now allow for a more malleable glove. Thermal Grip Gloves give you that option. A 10 gauge acrylic liner with a latex coating on palm and fingers lets you work with confidence in any cold weather. Yet letting you retain much of your finger dexterity.
If safety is a priority Kevlar Latex Gloves are your best bet. Cut resistant with excellent grip these glove conform to EN420 and EN388 standards giving protection against sharp objects and abrasives.
Headwear is a bit more straight forward. The standard go to is the Beanie. Coming in a huge range of colours, fabrics and styles, everyone will find something to suit their needs. These hats are normally made from polyester or acrylic but they also come in wool or fleece if that’s your preference. Wool though, tends to be heavier and takes longer to dry. In saying that, it is warmer and much more wind resistant than your man made fibres.
If your occupation requires you to wear a hard hat, a specialised helmet liner may be the answer. These can protect the head, neck and ears from the cold and can be bought with or without a securing chin strap.
